ROAD SAFETY AND TRANSPORT AUTHORITY, ROYAL GOVERNMENT OF BHUTAN

The Road Safety and Transport Authority (RSTA) has its origin to the April, 1962 when the  erstwhile  Bhutan  Government Transport  Service  (BGTS)  started  providing  passenger transport services in the country. The RSTA was established as per the Road Safety and Transport Act 1999 and delivers functions such as Public Transport Management and Regulation, Transport Planning and Policy, Vehicle Registration, Driver Licensing, Motor Vehicle Road Worthiness and Emission Testing and Monitoring, and Revenue Collection.
